Real-World Dog Training & Boarding
We raise calm, attentive, polite dogs that can live in the real world — not just perform in a quiet room.
Stonnie Dennis Dog Training & Boarding is a family-run working kennel in Winchester, Kentucky.
For 40 years we have trained dogs the same way we live with them: on land, in packs, through work, physically demanding activities, and repetition. No green screens. No trendy talking-head routines. Just daily work with our mentor dogs and guests.
If you want a companion that can settle at a soccer game, walk politely through town, ride in a canoe, and make better decisions without being micromanaged, this is the system.

How We’re Different
Most training treats the dog like a hobby project.
We don’t.
Our job is to remove the problems that keep a dog from being fully included in an active household. Basic obedience exists so the dog can live with people — at home, on the farm, in public, and on the road.
The Method
1. Energy regulation
A tired dog learns. An over-amped dog rehearses problems. We use work, movement, and the fatigue meter before we ask for formal manners.
2. Mentor dogs
Younger and reactive dogs learn from calm, experienced pack members. This is faster and more honest than trying to teach every social skill by hand.
3. Real environments
We train on acres of trails, creek, brush, hills, and everyday life. The world is the classroom. If a dog only listens in the kitchen, or when no one is around, it is not ready to be fully integrated into daily activities.
Services
Board & Train
Selective, multi-week in-kennel programs. Dogs live inside the daily rhythm of the kennel, structured packs, and real work. Flagship 28-day program: $4,000.
Online Coaching
A year-long program for owners who will do the work at home. You keep a training journal. We review it and give specific direction as the dog develops. Puppy-through-adulthood online program: $1,500.
Who This Is For
This is a good fit if you:
• Want a dog that can live in real life, not just pass a class
• Are willing to be consistent after the dog comes home
• Value standards over shortcuts
• Prefer practical work over internet trends
This is not a good fit if you want a 10-minute miracle, a treat-only routine with no structure, or a facility that hides the actual work.
